What Defines Good Quality Wallpaper?

Some people think the heavier the roll is, the better the wallpaper. Others believe that a thicker texture means higher quality. But is that really the case?
The answer is: not necessarily.
First, different materials have different characteristics and different quality standards. Nonwoven, PVC, and pure paper wallpapers are made for different purposes, so they should not be judged by weight or thickness alone.
Nonwoven wallpaper is more breathable and flexible. Its quality is more about the fiber composition, surface texture, dimensional stability, strength, and consistency. A good nonwoven wallpaper should feel soft but strong, have a natural texture, be easy to handle during installation, and remain stable after being applied to the wall.
PVC wallpaper is different. It is usually valued for its surface finish, embossing quality, durability, color consistency, and resistance to moisture and daily wear. A heavier PVC wallpaper does not automatically mean better quality. What matters is the balance between the PVC layer, backing, embossing, and overall construction.
Pure paper wallpaper has its own advantages. It is valued for its natural feel, print quality, breathability, and paper structure. The quality depends more on the paper base, printing precision, surface treatment, and stability than simply its weight.
So, good quality wallpaper is not simply the heaviest or thickest wallpaper.
It is about the right material, the right construction, consistent production, good surface performance, stable dimensions, accurate printing, and reliable quality from roll to roll.
In our factory, we believe quality means finding the right balance between material, design, performance, and consistency — not simply adding weight or thickness.
